The UBC community is invited to submit nominations for the Open Education Resources (OER) Excellence and Impact Awards. These teaching and learning awards recognize outstanding work done by faculty who materially advance the use and impact of open educational resources in credit courses at UBC. Four awards of $5,000 each are available: one individual and one group award at both UBC Okanagan and UBC Vancouver.
The call for nominations has been extended until December 11, 2025. Self-nominations are welcomed and anyone who is nominated will be invited to submit a full award evidence package which is due by January 15, 2026. Nominees who submit full evidence packages are assessed based on their overall excellence in creating, revising or using OER in teaching and learning; the impact of their OER work for students, including addressing the affordability of educational materials; and contribution to the greater open education community at UBC.
