Call for Group Nominations for UBC OER Excellence and Impact Awards

By Will Engle on November 7, 2024 in Events, Funding Updates, Updates

The offices of the Associate Provost, Academic Operations and Services, UBC Okanagan and Vice-President, Academic, UBC Vancouver, are pleased to announce a call for nominations for the Open Education Resources (OER) Excellence and Impact Awards. These awards are open to groups and individual faculty members at both campuses. The nomination deadline is November 14, 2024; all nominees will be invited to submit a full nomination evidence package by January 8, 2025.

The OER Excellence and Impact Awards recognize outstanding work done by teams and faculty who materially advance the use and impact of open educational resources in credit courses at UBC. The OER Excellence and Impact Awards consists of one individual and one team-based award of $5,000 per campus. Any member of the UBC community can nominate an individual faculty member or group for the award and self-nominations are welcome.

Nominees are assessed based on their overall excellence in creating, revising, or using OER in teaching and learning; the impact of their OER work for students, including addressing the affordability of educational materials; and contribution to the greater open education community at UBC.

Nominations are due by November 14, 2024, with full application packages due January 8, 2025. More details can be found at https://open.ubc.ca/oer-award/.
